Bike Niagara courses will continue on a demand responsive basis with public health measures in place to limit exposure and enhance safety as indicated below. Reference was provided from Cycling Canada and Niagara Freewheeler Websites and Bike Niagara members).
- Any person who has had a confirmed case of COVID-19, shows symptoms of COVID-19 or come into close contact with a person who has, should refrain from cycling course activities, isolate for at least 14 days and seek medical attention.
- Respect the social and physical distancing recommendations and other safety requirements and recommendations currently in effect by the federal as well as the relevant provincial or local government authority.
- Always maintain a minimum of 2 metres between all individuals before, during and after cycling course activities. If riding in a slipstream of another cyclist a greater separation distance is recommended.
- As well as the normal safety kit, instructors and assistants will always have gloves, masks and hand sanitizer available to protect themselves should contact become necessary in the case of an emergency and for occasions deemed appropriate to help ensure safety.
- Face masks must be worn during course activities by all course participants (students and instructors) in all indoor public places, and during outdoor course activities when physical distancing of 2 metres is not possible.
- The normal risk management course procedures will be applied to enhance safety and reduce risks such as:

- bike helmet mandatory,
- waiver signed (contactless by e-mail)
- low instructor/student ratio of 1:3 max. for learn to ride and 1:6 for any group courses,
- weather cancellations
- It is suggested that all rider course participants have a clean water bottle and disinfect their equipment prior and post ride, including wiping down handlebars, shifters, helmet, and glasses/protective lenses.
- If using a facility, limit contact with surfaces and facility staff.
- A statement summarizing the above covid protocol will be provided by the instructor prior to the beginning of the course.
